FAQ

What is Reverse Factoring?

In contrast to traditional invoice factoring, where the supplier sells its invoices to a third party at a discount, thereby receiving early payment, in reverse factoring, the buyer initiates the process. This type of factoring is commonly used by companies when they want to offer early payment to their suppliers while retaining a higher level of liquidity. Reverse factoring can be a way to strengthen a company's competitiveness while also solidifying supplier relationships.

When will the money be transferred to my bank account?

Once your invoices have been uploaded, approved, and evaluated, you can offer them for purchase to investors on the Aequitex platform. The evaluation, term, and other factors determine the "attractiveness" of your invoice. Once the invoice is sold, the amount will be credited to your account.

Can I sell an unlimited number of invoices?

Yes, on the Aequitex platform, you can sell as many invoices as you want. The condition is that the seller's company and the debtor must be domiciled in Switzerland. However, there may be some initial restrictions for validation and fraud protection.

Who bears the default risk?

Aequitex offers two types of factoring: In "True (Non-Recourse) Factoring" without recourse, the invoice is sold entirely along with all associated risks. Due to this additional risk for investors, they receive a premium, resulting in a higher deduction from the amount to be paid to the seller. In "False (Recourse) Factoring with Recourse," the risk remains with the seller. This option requires a good credit rating for the seller and involves lower deductions for them from the amount to be paid.

Will I receive the full invoice amount?

Once your invoice has been uploaded, evaluated, and validated, an amount will be offered to the seller, who can then offer the invoice to investors through the Aequitex platform. This amount is usually between 90% and 99% of the original invoice amount. When an investor buys the invoice, this amount will be credited to your account immediately.

Will my customer be notified?

In "True (Non-Recourse) Factoring" without recourse, where the risk passes entirely to the buyer, the invoice must be coordinated with the debtor, and the debtor's credibility determines the discount on the invoice amount. In "False (Recourse) Factoring with Recourse," factoring can also be done "silently," i.e., without notifying the debtor. However, this option can only be offered if the seller has a good credit rating.

What are the commissions and fees?

All fees are determined individually based on the creditworthiness of the seller and the debtor, payment terms, the age of the invoice, and other factors. Our in-house, AI-driven algorithm constantly evaluates these factors to provide a competitive risk-reward ratio for investors and quickly supply SMEs with the required liquidity. The annual fee for sellers is 240 CHF. The discount on the respective invoice amount is calculated individually and is usually between 1% and 10%. No additional fees apply.

Who bears the default risk?

Aequitex offers two types of factoring: recourse and non-recourse. With the recourse option, the risk remains on the sell-side. This option requires a good credit rating for the seller and offers smaller discount rates when selling the invoice. With the non-recourse option, the invoice is fully sold along with all associated risks. Due to this added risk for the investor, they receive a premium, which results in a higher discount on your invoice.

Do debtors confirm the validity of the invoices?

In the case of non-recourse factoring, where the risk is fully transferred to the buyer, the invoice needs to be validated with the debtor, and the credibility of the debtor determines the discount of the invoice. With the recourse option, factoring can be done 'silently' - without notifying the debtor. However, this option can only be offered if the seller himself has a good credit rating.
